Learning Expansion

When the lunch program became successful with more students arriving, we found there was interest from children from several village schools who wanted to continue their learning beyond elementary level.

Since students were near the village of Chandibhanjyang, we picked that location to start adding the new classrooms. In order to move ahead, we were required to get approval from the Nepal Education Minister, and we were enthusiastic when support continued after the initial funding. The Academy at the Lakes children helped us pay for the lunch program since some of the children came from the Surkhandi School. We now have children wishing to continue to high school level education.
